Migrating My Personal Website to Astra - A Journey of Speed and Efficiency

Introduction

In the ever-evolving world of web development, speed and efficiency are paramount. Recently, I embarked on a journey to migrate my personal website from WordPress to Astra, a static site generator. The goal was to create a faster, more efficient, and more streamlined website. And I’m proud to say, I achieved this goal in under an hour.

The Migration Process

The migration process was surprisingly straightforward, thanks to the power of Astra, Tailwind CSS for styling, and Vercel for hosting. I was able to migrate my website from WordPress to Astra using a blog template, style it with Tailwind, host it on Vercel and populate content using ChatGPT (Via Copilot) in under an hour.

The Results

The results were nothing short of impressive. My new website scores 100% across the board on Google PageSpeed tests, a testament to the speed and efficiency of Astra, Tailwind, and Vercel, and as a static site, it’s virtually unhackable… unlike WordPress and their endless security vulnerabilities. Now updating the website is as simple as editing a markdown file and pushing it to GitHub, all without leaving VSCode. And did I mention that it’s all completely free?

Final Thoughts

Migrating my personal website from WordPress to Astra, styling it with Tailwind, and hosting it on Vercel was a rewarding experience. Not only did I end up with a faster and more efficient website, but I also established a streamlined workflow that will save me time and effort in the future.

If you’re considering a similar migration, I highly recommend giving Astra, Tailwind, and Vercel a try. The speed, efficiency, and ease of use they offer are truly unparalleled.
